Below you will find a SMALL choice of various biking tours through our beautiful landscape. You can start these tours directly at our hotel and take themed tracks such as the Benediktweg, the Mozartradweg or the South-East Bavarian Way of Jacob. You can also choose a less ambitious lake tour around the Chiemsee or the Waginger See.

The Traun-Alz biking track leads directly along our hotel and follows the stunning riverscape of alpine Chiemgau area towards the river mouth in the North without major changes in altitude. On this route, you will find many interesting destinations such as the Traunstein Salinenkapelle (Salt Work Chapel), the Höhlenburg in Stein an der Traun (Cave Castle) or the Klosterkirche Baumburg in Altenmarkt an der Alz (Monastery Church) or Trostberg – a city worth seeing.

Only minor differences in ascents and descents
The Salt Works biking track connects the Salt Work villages of Rosenheim, Traunstein, Bad Reichenhall, Berchtesgaden and Hallein along the historic brine pipeline. Thus, you will follow the “World’s oldest Pipeline” and the old salt trade routes.
This track also leads along our hotel. In the Hammerer Spa Gardens right behind our house, you will find the information boards with the first scientific facts about the brine pipeline. This goes parallel to the Rote Traun River behind our house. Find out more about the brine pipeline and how it was built by following the cycling track.
Some ideal spots to take a break and rest can be found in the villages with their Salt Works, such as Traunstein and its famous town square. Maybe you want to stick to the track’s main theme and would like to visit the Salinenkapelle (Salt Work Chapel) or see the Museum of Local History and Toys. Then there’s the Bad Reichenhall Old Salt Mine, or the Berchtesgaden and Hallein Salt Mines.

Altitude: 450-750m, includes some major ascents
Without major ascents or descents, the Chiemsee circular biking track mainly follows the banks with its numerous bathing opportunities along the “Bavarian Sea”.
Many points of interest invite for a short break:
The Roman Museum Bedaium in Seebruck, St. John’s Parish Church in Breitbrunn by the village pond, the Feldwieser bay in Übersee-Feldwies, the Westenbuchberg church or the Julius-Exter-House (a Chiemsee painter), the Chiming lido and outdoor pool where you can rent a boat or the baroque pilgrimage church in Ising.
In Gstad and Prien, you can go on a Chiemsee boat trip to the Herren- or Fraueninsel (Chiemsee islands).

The Chiemsee Ring Line
There is a daily bus service with two buses commuting the opposite direction. Both busses have large trailers for bikes so you can park your car in one of the participating Chiemsee towns and start your Chiemsee round trip.
You can either take the bus whenever you feel like taking a lift or in order to return to your car.

Take the bike to Chiemsee and return by train.
Starting at our hotel, you take the bike along the Rote Traun River to Siegsdorf and just a bit further towards Traunstein. Then take a left turn towards Vachendorf, where you will have to master the only ascent of around 20m altitude. The rest of the track is more or less an easy trip towards Chiemsee to Grabenstätt.
Enjoy the beauty of Chiemgau landscape and simply take the train at Prien or Bernau to Traunstein or Siegsdorf.
This moderately difficult tour starts at Inzell-Adlgaß with a slight ascent.
The forest path leads slowly upwards first and becomes steeper by the end, yet rewarding you with increasingly stunning views into the valley until you finally reach the Stoißer Mountain Pasture. You can get refreshments at the farmed mountain hut.
The trip continues on a narrow path towards Farnbichlalm and soon you’ll reach another forest path leading down to the valley of Farnbichlalm.
Take the asphalt road downwards and once in Unterau, follow the next forest path leading up towards the Bäckeralm.
Again, we hike through dense forest, pass the Wiedmais Rescue Hut and the Brenneralm until we reach the Bäckeralm.
We also recommend a break in this pretty mountain hut.
Reinvigorated, we tackle the last stage down to the valley where we started in Adlgaß.

We like to call the „Steinecker Rundweg“ our “Home Tour for Mountain Bikers”. You can start at our hotel, where the track leads up to the Farnbichleralm, Hubertushütte towards the Stoißer Alm. As this is one of our “bosses” favourite tracks, he will love to give you more information about it.
The view from Stoißer Alm is simply breath taking.
Head back via the Adlgass Forester’s Lodge and enjoy the great descent with a slight trial. Then the track is an easy ride through pretty river valleys. You could take a short cut up to Frillensee – but you absolutely would not want to miss the perfect downhill passage along the Frillenbach River!!!
Make sure you drop by at the beautifully situated Adlgass Forester’s Lodge, bevor returning to Hammer via Inzell.
